Privacy policy
Plugpet shows your phone's battery as a cute pet, in the app, on a home-screen widget and in a full-screen charging show, and lists the battery details Android reports. This policy explains what stays on your phone and what is shared.
Battery readings stay on your phone
Plugpet reads the battery information Android makes available to every app (level, charging state, power source, health, temperature, voltage, current, charge cycles, technology and, where available, the time to full). It uses these readings only to draw your pet and show them on screen. They are never stored over time, uploaded or shared.
What else is kept on your phone
Your choices (which pet and stage you picked, which ones you unlocked, sound, °C/°F and whether the charging show opens by itself) and a few counters (how many times something went well, whether we have asked for a review, whether you have opened a screen besides home) are kept in the app's private storage. The pictures of your pet used by the widget are saved in the app's private folder. All of this is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Plugpet is free and shows ads using Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). The ads SDK only starts after you first leave the home screen. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
- device and app information (for example device model, OS version, app version),
- ad interactions (for example which ads were shown or tapped), and crash or diagnostic data from the ads SDK.
This data is collected by Google, not by NK Tools, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Plugpet asks for your consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings › Ad privacy choices in the app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs besides the ads described above.
- No accessibility service, no drawing over other apps, no notification access.
- We don't sell your data, and we never receive your battery readings.
Permissions
Plugpet asks for no runtime permissions. The ads SDK adds these, which Android grants at install:
- Internet and network state: used only to load ads.
- Advertising ID (and Android's ad services): used by the ads SDK as described above.
- Wake lock and foreground service: used by the ads SDK for its own background work. Plugpet keeps the screen on only while the charging show is open.
Children
Plugpet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
